Ancient Olympia

 

One of the most famous archaeological sites in Greece and the whole world is set only sixteen kilometers from the Ionian Sea, in the mainland of western Peloponnese and at the point where the rivers Alfios and Kladeos meet. Olympia, the place where the ancient Olympic Games were taking place, is a pole of attraction for millions of tourists, owing to its great history and the creation of the famous sculptor Praxitelis, Hermes.
